December 2015 President’s Letter

The whirlwind of the holiday season is upon us! NAWBO members and guests enjoyed a fun evening with food, drink and great conversation last week at Faire for our annual holiday social. Many thanks to our NAWBO Round Table members who sponsored the event, as well as a special thanks to Janice Cutler of North Raleigh Florist and Cary Florist who provided lovely floral arrangements for the tables. Several lucky attendees went home with a terrific door prize provided by our board members. A great start to the holidays!

If you were unable to attend the holiday social and would like to donate a new 12”-18” teddy bear to bring comfort to children testifying in court, email me for member Deb Diener’s home address ([email protected]). You can easily shop for bears online and ship them to Deb, a new NAWBO member and founder of Children Matter. Check out Children Matter on Facebook for more information about this worthwhile non-profit.

Exciting plans are in the works for 2016. Our “Building Your Business” workshop series begins on Jan 14th with “Growing Your Business With a Strategic Marketing Plan” presented by member Dawn Ohaver Moyer of Potential Essential. And you won’t want to miss our annual mega-networking luncheon on Jan 20th to put your marketing and networking skills into practice. Plus, more local and national membership benefits will be announced soon, so 2016 is definitely the year to become more involved with NAWBO.

NAWBO was founded 40 years ago with the mission “Creating leaders for a world of change.” The world is changing and NAWBO continues to support and empower women business owners to lead in this changing world. Here’s to a fabulous year in 2016! Happy holidays to all!
